Unison consolidated their first place in the table by beating second placed Greyhound 49-44 with all four players scoring in double figures. Mal Collier scored 15 for Greyhound. Colly Wobblers move up into second after a commanding victory over The Cricketers (Liverpool) 61-40. Gary Grant (21) and Pat Gibson(20) both answered seven of their eight questions. Handicap League Week 7

Unison remain top after overcoming Ormskirk Tennis Club’s 15 point start, to win by 5 points; Charles Johnson (18) and Alan Gibbs (17) top scored for the winners. Colly Wobblers made up Gang of Four’s 17 point start winning by 5 thanks to 20 and a full house from Pat Gibson, supported by 18 from Gary Grant and 15 from Mike Unsworth. 19 points from Alan Thompson was a major factor in Ormskirk Theatre Company’s win over Squigglers for whom Janet Crompton also scored 19; the Theatre Company had a 9 point start and ran out winning by eight.  Whippet, despite an impressive 22 points from Peter Duffy, were unable to overcome the 7 point start on Robin Hood, for whom Kathie Smith and Paul McAteer both scored 16. 

Handicap League Week 6

With Whippet not playing, Unison go top after their win over Gang of Four who had a 16 point start; Alan Gibbs (19) and Charles Johnson (17) top scored for Unison. 18 points from Pat Gibson enabled Colly Wobblers to overcome Rugby Hounds’ 12 point start; Eric Lupton scored 15 for Rugby Hounds.   An impressive 20 points from Barry Marshall helped Squigglers overcome Robin Hood’s one point start.  Ormskirk Tennis Club overhauled Ormskirk Theatre Company’s 7 point advantage to run out comfortable winners, thanks to 18 points from Paul Prior. 

Handicap League Week 5

Whippet remain top after their 8 point win over Squigglers, who had a 6 point start; Debbie Davidson scored an impressive 20 points and a full house for the winners. Unison overcame an 11 point deficit on Rugby Hounds to win by two; Darren Martin (17) and Charles Johnson (16) scored well for the winners while Eric Lupton replied with 19 for Rugby Hounds.  Despite 18 points from Paul Prior, Ormskirk Tennis Club lost to Robin Hood, all of whose players registered double figure scores.  An excellent 23 points from Alan Thompson enabled Ormskirk Theatre Company to increase their 6 point start into a 12 point victory over Gang of Four. 


The committee has approved Age UK (Lancashire) as our charity. They were very helpful to the Sackville family in Margaret's final months. We have sent our first donation.

We have sent a final donation to HCPT and Cancer Research.

We have also sent a small donation to charities nominated by Charlie McAuley, George Lucy, Brian Ball and Andy Francis.
